Science and Senses!

 

In our Room 3 and 4 bubble we have been learning all about the science behind our senses. We had a great lesson with Miss Peterson using jelly beans to test our senses and we made sherbet fizz that had a salty, sour, bitter or sweet taste depending on how well we followed instructions. Lock Down - Staying Connected!

We have been doing some awesome online learning for the past 2 weeks. It has been heart-warming seeing everyone's smiling faces while we are locked up in our homes! The most important thing for us to do is to look out for one another and stay connected at all times! Check on your friends and your loved ones and have some fun while you have all this free time in the house! Play games, have dance competitions, singing battles and have a lot of laughs!

Cook Island Language Week 2021

 Term 3 - Week 2 

Kia Orana! This week was Cook Island Language week. We learnt how to introduce ourselves in Cook Islands Maori and create some Tivaevae which is a special Cook Island handmade quilt given as gifts and made with love! Watch our video below to see how well we did! Meitaki 

Week 7 Certificate winners

Congratulations to our Week 7 Certificate winners. Well done on all your hard work this week with demonstrating our school values to a high standard.

Samoan Language Week 2021

 Talofa Lava, 

This Week was Samoan Language Week. We participated in Volley Ball, Daily Quizzes and we even got to eat some delicious Keke Pua'a (Pork Buns) and Chop Suey on rice. We learned some new Samoan Phrases that we used each day and made a class music clip with a new song we learned. 

It was very challenging learning a new language and pronouncing words you're not used to saying. Making this music video was loads of fun! We enjoyed working together, dancing, and singing along to this song. We hope you enjoy it! 

Swimming Sports Day!

Our school Swimming Sports Day was full of fun races, chants and competitions!!

Friday House Rewards

On Friday the 19th of March, our houses were rewarded with some fun swimming time and delicious ice cream sundaes! We worked super hard to gain house points by following the school values, picking up rubbish, using our initiative, being a helping hand to others and completing work to a high standard.  Windsor was the winning house for Week 7, they did an awesome job at winning our house chant competition as well. Congratulations to all the houses and lets see who camps them all for Week 8! 😄

Room 3 - Wesley Intermediate Student Leaders 2021

Today we announced our Wesley Intermediate 2021 Student Leaders. 

Congratulations to Harmony Bishop, Avia Falemoe & Lillian Akeli from our very own Room 3 whanau who were announced among the school Student Leaders this morning. We look forward to the hard work, growth and inspiration that will come from our leaders throughout the year.

Careers classes start today!

Today we had our first careers classes which included - Cooking, Art, Workshop, Science and Robotics. We had a great a great time in our first lessons getting to know our new teachers, learning new skills and some of us even tasting new foods! Heres a picture of some students from Room 3 who came to deliver a tasty treat they made, to our teacher!

Maths Problem Solving

Today we worked together in our houses to share our strategies of solving mathematical problems. These problems required us to use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division strategies. We presented and explained our strategies to the rest of the class to help others find different ways to solve math problems.

Friday Sports Rotation

On Friday afternoons after lunch time, we have a sports rotation that includes swimming, basketball and volleyball. We have loads of fun learning about sportsmanship, discipline and learning new skills. Here are a few snaps!
